The Equation Editor version 3.0 Help topic "Equation Editor basics" contains the
following text:
Equation Editor, a special version of the MathType equation editor from
Design Science, Inc., is customized for use with Microsoft applications.
For information about Equation Editor and MathType, see the Wdreadme
file in the Word folder or the Ppreadme file in the PowerPoint folder.
The file names "Wdreadme" and "Ppreadme" are incorrect. The correct names of the
files are Wdread8.txt and Ppread8.txt and they are located in the Office folder.
However, these files do not contain any information about Equation Editor or
MathType.

To find the Equation Editor "Equation Editor basics" Help topic follow these
steps:
1. In a Microsoft Word document, start the Equation Editor.
2. On the Help menu, click on Equation Editor Help Topics and then select the
Contents tab.
3. Double-click the Creating and Changing Equations book.
