SYMPTOMS
========

When you insert a hyperlink into an unsaved document (click Hyperlink on the
Insert menu), Microsoft Word displays the following message:

  You should save this document before creating a hyperlink.
  Do you want to save this document now?

If you click Yes and save the document as type HTML Document, Word does not
insert the hyperlink.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, use any of the following methods:

- Save the document as HTML before inserting the hyperlink.

  -or-

- Click Yes when you are prompted to save the document, and then save as a
  format other than HTML.

  -or-

- Click No when you are prompted to save the document, insert the hyperlink,
  and then save the document as HTML.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article.
