SYMPTOMS
========
If you restart your computer in MS-DOS mode while you are running Microsoft
Encarta Encyclopedia 2000, you may receive the following error message:
The program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive the following error message:
Enc2000 caused a stack fault in module Kernel32.dll.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, restart the computer. If you continue to receive the
error message, remove and reinstall Encarta Encyclopedia 2000:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. In the the list of installed programs, click Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia
2000, and then click Add/Remove.
4. When you are prompted to confirm the removal of Encarta Encyclopedia 2000,
click Yes.
5. Reinstall Encarta Encyclopedia.
STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia
2000.
