SYMPTOMS
========
When you run any of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you
may receive an error message similar to the following:
<Filename> caused an invalid page fault in module
unknown@<xxxx:xxxxxxxx>
where <Filename> is the executable file of the program.
NOTE: When you run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, you may receive the following
error message:
FS2000 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll.
Microsoft Flight Simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you click Click Here, a second dialog box that contains information about the
error mesaage opens. The information contains one of the following:
AppName: FS2000.icd AppVer: 7.0.0.4781 ModName: Unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if you install third-party aircraft, gauges, or other
add-on features.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, remove the third-party feature or contact the
manufacturer of the third-party feature for support.
You may need to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Flight Simulator to remove the
third-party feature.
To uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator, use the appropriate method for your
version of Flight Simulator.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000
-------------------------------
To uninstall Flight Simulator 2000:
1. Insert the Flight Simulator 2000 Disc 1 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Press
and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent Flight
Simulator 2000 from starting automatically.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
4. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, and then
click Add/Remove or Change/Remove.
5. Click Uninstall.
6. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove Flight Simulator
2000, click Yes.
7. Click OK, and then click OK again.
8. Close Control Panel.
9. Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click "Files or Folders" or
"For Files or Folders".
10. In the Named box, type "fs2000" (without the quotation marks).
11. In the "Look in" box, click My Computer.
12. Click to select the "Include subfolders" check box if it is available.
13. Click Find Now.
14. Right-click the FS2000 folder, click Delete, and then click Yes.
15. Close the Find: Files Named FS2000 window.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 98

To uninstall Flight Simulator 98:
1. Insert the Flight Simulator 98 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Press and hold
down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent Flight Simulator 98
from starting automatically.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
4. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Flight Simulator 98, and then
click Add/Remove or Change/Remove.
5. Click Uninstall.
6. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove Flight Simulator 98,
click OK.
7. Click OK again.
8. Close Control Panel.
9. Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click "Files or Folders" or
"For Files or Folders".
10. In the Named box, type "flight simulator" (without the quotation marks).
11. In the "Look in" box, click My Computer.
12. Make sure that the "Include subfolders" check box is selected.
13. Click Find Now.
14. Right-click the Flight Simulator folder, click Delete, and then click Yes.
15. Close the Find: Files Named Flight Simulator window.
Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2: WWII Pacific Theater

To uninstall Combat Flight Simulator 2:
1. Insert the Combat Flight Simulator 2 Disk 1 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to
prevent Combat Flight Simulator 2 from starting automatically.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
4. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2, and
then click Add/Remove.
5. Click Uninstall or Change/Remove.
6. Click to select the "Remove saved games" box.
7. Click OK.
8. Close Control Panel.
9. Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click "Files or Folders" or
"For Files or Folders".
10. In the Named box, type "combat flight simulator 2" (without the quotation
marks).
11. In the "Look in" box, click My Computer.
12. Click to select the "Include subfolders" check box if the check box is
available.
13. Click Find Now.
14. Right-click the Combat Flight Simulator 2 folder, click Delete, and then
click Yes.
15. Close the Find: Files Named Combat Flight Simulator window.
16. Reinstall the game.
Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator: WWII Europe Series

To uninstall Combat Flight Simulator:
1. Insert the Combat Flight Simulator CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Press and
hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent Combat Flight
Simulator from starting automatically.

11. In the "Look in" box, click My Computer.
12. Click to select the "Include subfolders" check box.
13. Click Find Now.
14. Right-click the Combat Flight Simulator folder, click Delete, and then click
Yes.
15. Close the Find: Files Named Combat Flight Simulator window.
