SYMPTOMS
========
When you are using Zoomit Compass or Microsoft Metadirectory Services (MMS)
Compass 2.1, there is a limitation on the length of the host name that you can
configure when you connect to MMS. Compass allows a maximum of 39 characters in
the Host Name Address box in the Configure Servers window. You cannot enter more
than 39 characters.
CAUSE
=====
The Host Name Address box is limited to 39 characters.
RESOLUTION
==========
To work around this issue, type the IP address of the server to which you want
to connect.
STATUS
======
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.
