Aptiva - 2144/2168 (SL-H) Considerations: Problems with Aptiva Guide Demo
Applicable to: World-Wide
Situation:
Customers often cannot get into the Aptiva Guide Demo, or want to see the demo again and have "lost" it.
Solution:
The customer needs to exit the demo:
If the customer needs to exit the demo have the customer look for the door that appears at the bottom of the screen. If the door is not visible the customer may need to ôclickö through a few screens until it appears. When the door appears, click it once. He will then see a screen with a question at the bottom that reads: Always start Aptiva Guide after rebooting. Remove the checkmark from the box if the customer does not want the demo to startup everytime he boots. Then show him where to find Aptiva Guide to return to the demo. (Aptiva Guide can be found in the Aptivaware folder.)
Note: If the door does not appear on the Warp/Windows load have the customer choose the Warp button or the Windows button above the MORE=> button. Either way will take him to a screen that prompts him to exit to the preload.
The customer has lost the Aptiva Guide:
If the customer has "lost" the demo, usually he has removed it from startup and does not know where to find it again. It is in the Aptivaware folder. The demo is the Aptiva Guide icon. The customer can start the demo from that icon at anytime.
