Aptiva - 2140/2142 Considerations - Internet Phone

Attempt to exit Internet Phone "User Information" puts user into an inescapable loop.

Detail:
The first time you launch Internet Phone it will prompt for you to enter the "User Information". If you do not enter any information, the application will not let you exit. You receive an error that the Nickname entered is invalid.

Answer / Workaround:
You must fill in the User Information, click OK, then exit the application normally.

Can't record Voice mail in an active Internet Phone session.

Detail:
If you are currently talking to someone using Internet Phone, you will not be able to use Internet Voice Mail to send a voice mail message. The application will return an error that another voice application is running and it cannot continue.

Answer / Workaround:
This is working as designed. While speaking to someone on the internet, the microphone is in use by Internet Phone, and is not available for other applications.

User should be instructed to use "Update room list".

Detail:
After enabling or disabling the parental filtering option, the chat room list is not updated automatically. No messages are displayed informing the user that they must update the list.

Answer / Workaround:
The workaround is if a user enables or disables parental filtering, they must also select "Update Public Chat Room List" (which is in the same pull-down menu as "Parental filtering").

Unable to use "collaborative browsing" functions in Internet Phone.

Detail:
Internet Phone does not support "collaborative browsing".

Answer / Workaround:
Use Internet Conference if these features are required.

Text written over text in Internet Voicemail properties.

Detail:
Dialog box text will overwrite text on main Internet Phone screen when closed. Steps to ReCreate: Click on Internet Suite icon -->Internet Voicemail -->Select Options -->Mail Settings -->OK. There will be other text written over the "To:" field on the main screen. If you move your mouse over the "To:" field, it will go away. ***Note***This also happens whenever you choose either User Info-->OK, or Signature-->OK.

Answer / Workaround:
This is a known issue with Internet Phone and will be addressed in the next release. The workaround is to move the mouse over the corrupted text, or minimize then restore the Internet Phone screen to force it to repaint.
