Aptiva - Restoring files or directories on Windows 95 preloaded Aptiva systems

Question:
How do I Restore A File Or Directory From The Aptiva Recovery CD?

Answer:
1)To download the file APTRSTOR.EXE. Click here .
2)You then need to run the EXE file (APTRSTOR) and it will then create a diskette.
3)From the A:\ prompt type GO and hit enter... the necessary files will then be copied to the C:\ drive.
4)You can now use the RESTORE command (see the usage instructions below) to restore corrupted or missing files or directories on the Aptiva

NOTE: This procedure should not be used on the Windows and Program Files directories. The reason behind this is, these
directories contain files which are interlinked with others, restoring them without restoring the links may lead to other problems.

Below is a copy of what the readme.txt on the diskette looks like:

APTRSTOR.EXE

Use on:
Aptiva systems preloaded with Windows95. This includes models: Mxx/Axx/Cxx/Sxx/etc.

Contents of this diskette:
This diskette contains a program which allows you to restore corrupted or missing files or directories on the Aptiva.

Installation:
1)Insert Diskette into drive A:
2)Click on <START>, then <RUN>.
3)Type "A:\GO.BAT", and press <ENTER>.
Note: This will copy the program files to C:\
4)When process has stopped, remove the diskette from drive A:
5)DONE.

Usage Instructions:
Usage: RESTORE [options] filespec
Options: -v = View files to be restored, but do not extract.
Examples:
1.RESTORE WINDOWS\SYSTEM\*.*
(restores all files in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory)
2.RESTORE IBMTOOLS\*.EXE
(restores all .EXE files in the IBMTOOLS directory)
3.RESTORE CONFIG.SYS
(restores CONFIG.SYS
