TP General - ThinkPad running OS/2 with a network card installed may stop regularly for 5 seconds

SYMPTOM:
The machine will stop processing 4 or 5 seconds before continuing. Keyboard and mouse clicks stop too. When typing is continued, all pressed keys appear in the display.

CONFIGUTATION:
Any ThinkPad running OS/2 with a network card installed.

SOLUTION:
Network drivers are loading with the network adapter either not attached to the network or the network adapter has been removed from system. To resolve this problem simly remove the network drivers to keep them from loading when not connected to the network. (Make an alternate config.sys file to boot the system when not connected to the network)
