Aptiva - Reinstalling the Mwave drivers without Aptiva Installer

Applicable to: World-Wide

Only applies to Mwave based systems which came with a Diagnostics and Utilities CD.

Insert the Diagnostics and Utilities CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Right click on My Computer, and select Properties.
Select the Device Manager tab
Highlight Mwave DSP on the list of devices, then click Remove.
Click Close.
Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Double click Add New Hardware.
Click Next, then select NO to let Windows look for the hardware.
Click Next, then select Other Devices from the hardware type list.
Click Next, then click Have Disk.
Click Browse, then select G: from drives list.
Select the appropriate folder. For most 2134 or 2176 systems, select G:\DISK\MWAVE\MWAVE. For 2159 systems or the 2176-C6Z, select G:\.
A filename with the extension INF will appear under file name. Click OK, then click OK again.
Click Next, then click Next again.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

This installation procedure will also install the MIDI samples, modem driver and sound, video and game controller drivers.
