TP 390E - 3Com PC Card drivers not recognized on the driver diskette

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
When a 3Com card is placed in the system, the system will begin the Plug n Play configuration. When the device drivers for the card are requested, the system will not recognize the drivers on the diskette.

  1. Power on the system.
  2. When the IBM screen appears, press F1 to enter the BIOS setup utility.
  3. Select the Config menu.
  4. Select the Advanced Setup menu.
  5. Select the Power menu.
  6. Scroll down using the down arrow until PCI Bus Power Management is highlighted.
  7. Press the spacebar so that the setting toggles from Automatic to Disabled.
  8. Press F10 to Save and Exit the BIOS setup utility.
  9. When the operating system boots, the card should now configure correctly.
