TP 600E - New hardware detected after reloading the computer

Symptom:
After having reloaded the ThinkPad, whether using the Recovery CD that came with the system or loading a custom or company image, Windows 98 will detect new hardware and ask for the video drivers diskette.

Configuration:
A ThinkPad 600E with the Windows 98 preload, or a custom or company image just installed on the system.

Solution:

1. At boot up new hardware will be detected.
2. A prompt for the video driver diskette is displayed. Press OK.
3. A prompt for a file, NMGC5.CAT, is displayed. Press SKIP FILE.
4. A prompt to restart is displayed. Press Yes.
