What can ServerGuide do for me?
ServerGuide is the IBM Personal Systems Group Deployment product for IBM Netfinity systems. ServerGuide was designed to enable ease of hardware setup and configuration and Network Operating System (NOS) installation.
ServerGuide provides value-add applications such as Netfinity Manager for Intel systems management.
Stay current with IBM Update Connector, connecting to the IBM web site for the server's BIOS, drivers and application updates.
What version of ServerGuide is shipping?
Note: While ServerGuide provides support for new servers, it has been tested and supports exisitng IBM Netfinity server systems at time of General Availability.
ServerGuide 4.1 ships with all IBM Netfinity server systems beginning mid-February 1999. ServerGuide 4.0.4.A was the last ServerGuide to provide support for IBM PC Server systems.

ServerGuide language support
ServerGuide is translated into the following languages
ServerGuide 4.1 also allows for any language version of a supported NT operating system to be installed.
ServerGuide has been tested with the following language versions of a supported NT NOS
Localized language Microsoft NT install
The note below describes how to install the language versions of NT using ServerGuide. The NT Language support is just available using the Customized installation with Setup Diskette method. Beside the Required Diskettes created from ServerGuide, the Windows NT Setup Disks are required also. These diskettes are part of the Windows NT retail packages or you can created them using the WINNT /OX ( or WINNT32 /OX if running from NT ) program which is located in the i386 subdirectory of the Windows NT retail CD.
1. From the ServerGuide's Main Menu select the Operating System Installation icon.
2. Then select the Microsoft Windows NT icon.
3. From the Version section select Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 (could be any supported version of NT), and from the Method for Windows NT Server CD installation section select Customized Installation with Setup Diskette.
4. Press Enter or the Next button to continue to the next screen.
5. Then a screen with the hardware installed in your system will be displayed; Press Enter or the Next button to continue.
6. From the Installation Diskette Packages screen creates all the Required Diskettes.
7. Once all the Required Diskettes have been created, the Starting the Installation screen will be displayed; Follow the instruction described in there to continue with the installation.
