Installation instructions
1. Extract the ThinkPad Utility Package to the hard drive.
2. Click on Start->Run... Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\UTILITY\SETUP.EXE in the dialog box and press click on OK.
3. Click Next at the Welcome screen.
4. Click Next to accept the default subdirectory for the file to be copied to.
5. Select Custom install option and click Next to continue.
6. Uncheck the check mark next to Personalization Editor and click Next.
7. Click Next to accept the default ThinkPad group.
8. ThinkPad utility files will begin to be copied to the system.
9. ThinkPad utility install will complete and ask to restart the machine, select No, I will restart later. Then click Finish to complete the installation, and remove any diskettes from the disk drive.
10. Close ThinkPad configuration, shutdown, and restart the machine.

Additional information
The ThinkPad Utility Package (UTTP2000.EXE) combines the separate utility packages listed below into a single package for easier installation.
o Utility Drivers for Windows 2000 Beta 3. Version 1.1x (ITU501US)
o Utility Data Package I (600 - all, 770 - all, 760XD/XL, 765D/L). Version 1.00 (IIUE01WW)
o Utility Data Package II (365X/XD, 380E/ED/XD/Z, 385E/ED/XD). Version 1.00 (IEUF02WW)
o Utility Data Package III (560E/X/Z, 570). Version 1.01 (IMUM02WW)
o Utility Drivers for DOS (all systems mentioned previously). Version 4.1x (ITU602US)
o Personalization Editor (all systems mentioned previously). Version 4.14 (IOU704US)

The file PERSDATA.EXE is a bootable DOS diskette that is used to update the Personalization data. Refer to the User's Guide for the ThinkPad for additional information. It is not required to install the ThinkPad Utility drivers, ONLY if the Personalization features need to be updated.
