MPEG-2 Video PCI Decoder Card - Product Overview

General Information
The IBM MPEG-2 VIDEO PCI DECODER CARD is a PCI hardware card, designed to decompress ("decode") MPEG data for playback on a DVD drive. This allows playback of video via the DVD drive. The MPEG-2 Video PCI Decoder Card also includes a software application that provides a Windows utility for DVD navigation via a graphic display on the bottom of the PC screen. The navigation function provides a simple point and click control for video playback, and resembles the control panel of a VCR. Playback of DVD discs, Video CDs, and CD-ROMs containing MPEG files can be carried out with the navigation function. Features include:

• Decodes MPEG-2 bitstream up to 15 Mbps
• Supports display resolution up to 1600 x 1200
• 2 MB EDO DRAM with 50 ns access time
• Full-function DVD navigation on the PC
• Playback to standard TV
• Analog or digital audio output option available
• Permits setting and resetting DVD region codes up to five times
