TP 600,770 - After configuring Novell Groupwise preferences, the system displays a "Modem Internal Error" on boot

Symptom:
After configuring (or editing the user "preferences" in) Novell GroupWise version 5.2 and rebooting the computer, the system displays the following error message:

Primary code:5(0x0005)
Secondary code:105(0x069)

Configuration:
Any ThinkPad 600 or 770 series computer with the internal ACP Modem running Windows NT 4.0

Solution:
A key in the registry file needs to be changed to correct this symptom. Please contact Novell for more information on the necessary changes to the registry file. Novell's support site can be found at: http://support.novell.com/.

Additional information:

• This has been found on systems running Windows NT 4.0.
• This error does not occur if you just install GroupWise 5.2; it is only displayed after configuring GroupWise 5.2 through "Edit Preferences".
• This problem has been reported to Novell, and they are aware of the problem.
• Each time the preferences are changed, GroupWise will change the registry setting back to a binary key, so the above registry change will have to be made again.
• Novell says that changing the registry key back to a DWORD does not cause any known problems for their application.
