Aptiva - 2158/2163/2164 Quicken 98 shows US currency values in Canada

Some Canadian customers have reported that the monetary values being tracked by Quicken 98 Basic are in US dollars. When Quicken 98 Basic is installed it determines what monetary values will be used based on the systems country region settings. Follow the steps to set Quicken 98 Basic to recognize the monetary values for your country.
Part One: Un-install Quicken 98
If you have previously installed Quicken 98 you must un-install it. Note, you must re-enter any Quicken data entries you have made as the original files are in the wrong monetary values, this includes any Quicken backup files you may have created.
To un-install Quicken 98 Basic follow the steps below.
1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2. From Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
3. From the Add Remove Programs Properties dialog box highlight the Quicken Basic 98 entry , click the Add/Remove button.
4. Click Yes when you see "Are you sure you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its components?" message screen.
5. Once Un-install shield is finished click OK and reboot your system.
Part 2: Re-set your Aptiva's Region Settings.
You must ensure you Aptiva's country region settings are correct so that when you install Quicken 98 it will recognize and display the correct monetary values for your country. To set you systems country region settings follow the steps below.
1. Click, Start, Control Panel, Regional Settings.
2. From the Regional Settings Properties dialog box, Regional Settings tab, use the drop down menu to change the operating systems regional setting to "English (Canadian)" and Click Apply.
3. Click Yes, when asked to reboot the system.
Part 3: Install Quicken 98
Follow the steps below to re-install Quicken 98 Basic.
1. Before re-installing Quicken 98 Basic you will rename two files below. Use the Windows Explorer to find and rename the following files.
C:WINDOWS\intuprof.ini
C:\WINDOWS\quicken.ini
C:\WINDOWS\intuprof.old
C:\WINDOWS\quicken.old
2. Insert the Quicken 98 CD, if you have Autoplay enabled the installation program will start automatically.
If you do not have Autoplay enabled, you will need to manually start the Quicken 98 Basic installation program to do so, Click Start, Run, and in the space provided type x:\install where X is equal to drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
3. Note, when you see the following screen be sure the Internet Explorer 3.02 (128 bit SSL) component is un-checked. The screen should appear as it does below. Click Next and complete the installation.
4. Follow the remaining on screen prompts and once the install process is finished re-boot your system and verify the installation is correct.
5. To verify Quicken 98 for your country is properly installed, launch Quicken 98 Basic, and from the Help menu choose "About Quicken" the following screen will appear with the country displayed in the upper left hand corner. It should appear as illustrated below.
