Aptiva - Error with MFC42.DLL after installing HP Bonus software

HP has found that if the customer installs the bonus software that ships with their DeskJet 697C, 712C, or 882C printers, a DLL file will be replaced that is necessary for other common programs. HP has identified the cause and provided a work around and a downloadable patch.
