Aptiva - 15" TSO monitor causes blank screen on bootup

Description:
A 15" TSO monitor may cause a blank screen for 45 seconds during bootup.
Models affected:
2158, 2163, and 2164 systems with a Norwegian preload.
Explanation:
The monitor returns no response to particular DDC calls from the NVidia 2.72 driver (instead of "not supported" for instance), which causes the 45 second delay until the driver times out.
Workaround:
Either use a non-TSO (15") monitor or use Update Connector to install the updated NVidia driver when it becomes available.
