Netfinity 7000 M10 - POST displays errors but memory works ok

Abstract: POST displays errors but memory works ok

Symptom:


Note: These errors will occur only when Hyundai 128MB DIMMs with Header Code (on the IBM barcode label) J177N or Y177N are installed in the system.

Problem isolation aids:
The system is a Netfinity 7000-M10 server, Type 8680, any model.

The system is configured with 1-4 Processors.

The system is configured with the following option:



The system is configured with one or more Hyundai 128MB DIMMs.

The Hyundai DIMM has a Header Code of J177N or Y177N.

Fix:
Replace memory DIMMs (Option p/n01k8045) with good parts from different manufacturing source (FRU p/n01k7368).

Workaround:
After POST the system will function normally. The memory functions OK.

Details:
To eliminate POST errors change memory DIMMs.

Note: Not all Hyundai DIMMs are bad, the bad Hyundai DIMM has Header Code (on the IBM barcode label) J177N and Y177N.
