Aptiva - Microsoft Sidewinder joystick fails with video game

Situation:
Users may encounter difficulties in using the Microsoft Sidewinder joystick with certain games. The joystick passes diagnostic test that comes with the joystick. In addition, the COM Port resources are correct, but the game does not work.
Solution:
The following procedures should allow you to restore operation of the Microsoft Sidewinder:
1. Install the Microsoft Sidewinder software.
2. Install the Direct-X drivers that were included with the game you are attempting to use.
3. Install the latest Mwave 20D drivers. To obtain the necessary language specific files, select from the list below:
- Australia
- Belgium/Dutch

- Netherlands
- Norway
