IBM Monitors - PS/1 Video Card Shield - Video transistors short circuiting
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
With PS/1 Model 2123 14" Monitor the legs of video transistors Q630, Q650 and Q670 are short circuiting to the video card shield.
Fix:
New level video card shield (p/n 45F1660) released. This shield has a nylon spacer fitted to prevent distortion and subsequent shorting to the transistors. It is easily identified as legs of the spacer are located at the center of the shield. Any monitor which does not have this spacer fitted must have this rework applied.
