Aptiva - Crackling sound when adjusting volume on speakers
Applicable to: World-Wide
Sometimes, you may hear a crackly noise when adjusting the volume of your speakers.
The potentiometer (volume knob) has become dirty and the wiper no longer makes good contact with the resistive element.
After turning on the power to your speakers, rotate the volume knob vigorously.
This will wipe the element and restore good electrical contact.
