The READ1ST.TXT text file included with ViaVoice Gold will be updated to include the following information:

Problems with ViaVoice Navigation
=================================

If the Internet Explorer 4.0 Web-enhanced active Desktop is active, the navigation capabilities of ViaVoice Gold are limited in the Desktop and in any windows displayed in a Web view.

To maintain the full navigation capabilities of ViaVoice Gold, when installing Internet Explorer 4.0, select "No" in the "Windows Desktop Update" window. This prevents the Web enhanced active Desktop from being enabled.

If you have already installed Internet Explorer 4.0 with the Web-enhanced active Desktop enabled and you want to disable it, do the following:

1. Click on the "Start" button.
2. Select "Settings."
3. Select "Control Panel."
4. Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
5. Select "Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0" from the list of installed software, and click on the "Add/Remove" button.
6. From the Internet Explorer 4.0 Active Setup window, select "Remove the Windows Desktop Update component, but keep the Internet Explorer 4.0 Web browser," and click on "OK."
7. Restart the computer.
