The supported models are as follows. - ThinkPad 390 - ThinkPad i Series 1720, 1721 NOTE: Disk release date now matches the date shown in BIOS. Actual release date for this file is February 17, 1999.

Print these instructions or display them on another computer. 2. Firmly connect the AC adapter to the computer. 3. Insert the System Program Service Diskette into the diskette drive and turn on the computer. 4. When prompted press the '1' key to update the system program. Warning: Do not turn off the computer until the update has been completed. IF YOU TURN OFF THE COMPUTER WHILE THE UPDATE IS STILL IN PROGRESS, THE SYSTEM BOARD MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. Summary of Change Key: <n.nn> Diskette Version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New Function or Enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function 5.20 - (Fix) Windows 98: The battery can't show 100% when fully charged. - (Fix) The French keyboard can't accept the 'M' key when it is pressed for password entering. - (Fix) After entering BIOS Setup Utility, the century year will be changed to 20th intermittently. 5.17 - (Fix) OS/2: When the system resumes from suspend or hibernation, sometimes the audio function is not available. - (Fix) OS/2: When the system resumes from suspend or hibernation, sometimes a short strange noise can be generated. - (Fix) Windows NT/95/98: The system cannot enter hibernation mode using the suspend by hibernation timer. - (Fix) If the processor speed is not set to "Fixed Max" in BIOS setup, the system hangs after resuming from hibernation mode. <5.16> - (Fix) System hang after resume from suspend mode, if system suspended by standby timer and Power On Password is set. - (Fix) System Crash Page: Using IntelliSync 97 to transfer file will hang. <5.15> - (New) Support for ThinkPad 390 System Program Information Each version of the System Program Service Diskette contains the following system program (BIOS). Diskette BIOS Version Version 5.20 V1.0 R01-C3 5.17 V1.0 R01-C0 5.16 V1.0 R01-A7 5.15 V1.0 R01-A6 The BIOS Date can be viewed by invoking "IBM BIOS Setup Utility". The BIOS Version can be viewed by selecting "Config" in the "IBM BIOS Setup Utility" menu.
