TP 755,760,765 - How to configure MWave Modem to other COM ports

This document contains instructions for configuring the MWave Modem to use other COM ports under Windows 3.1x, OS/2 and Windows 95. The instructions are generalized but specific enough to guide you through the process.
Windows 3.1x/OS/2:
ThinkPad 760 Series:
1. Turn on the ThinkPad and start Windows 3.1x, OS/2 Warp.
2. Bring up ThinkPad Features.
Windows 3.1x:
1. Double click on the Thinkpad Group icon.
2. Double click on the Thinkpad Features icon.
OS/2 Warp:
1. Double click on the Thinkpad Group icon.
2. Double click on the Thinkpad Features icon.
3. Click on the Modem ICON on the right side, (has a phone receiver on it.)
4. Click in the selection box/circle for the desired Com port selection (COM 1-4) or Disable.
(Note: If the you receive a message telling you another device is you are selecting is using the same resources as another. Click on "OK" and that device will be disabled.)
5. Click on OK..
6. Shutdown system and reboot.
ThinkPad 755 Series:
1. Turn on the ThinkPad and start Windows 3.1x, OS/2 Warp.
2. DoubleClick on ThinkPad Icon.
3. DoubleClick on ThinkPad Setup.
4. DoubleClick on DSP Icon.
5. Click in the selection box/circle for the desired Com port selection (COM 1-4) or Disable.
(Note: If the you receive a message telling you another device is you are selecting is using the same resources as another. Click on "OK" and that device will be disabled.)
6. Click Save.
7. Shutdown system and reboot.
Windows 95:
ThinkPad 760 Series:
1. Turn on the ThinkPad and start Windows 95.
2. Bring up ThinkPad Features.
3. Click on Start, then Programs, ThinkPad.
4. Click on ThinkPad Features.
5. Click on the Modem ICON on the right side, (has a phone receiver on it.)
6. Click in the selection box/circle for the desired Com port selection (COM 1-4) or Disable.
(Note: If the you receive a message telling you another device is you are selecting is using the same resources as another. Click on "OK" and that device will be disabled.)
7. Click on OK.
8. Click on start, Settings, and then Control Panel.
9. Click System, then Device Manager tab.
10. Scroll down to Ports Com & LPT.
11. Remove all ports except LPT.
12. Shutdown system and reboot.
ThinkPad 755 Series:
1. Turn on the ThinkPad and start Windows 95.
2. Click on Start, then Programs, ThinkPad.
3. Click on ThinkPad Setup.
4. DoubleClick on DSP Icon.
5. Click in the selection box/circle for the desired Com port selection (COM 1-4) or Disable.

6. Click Save.
7. Click on start, Settings, and then Control Panel.
8. Click System, then Device Manager tab.
9. Scroll down to Ports Com & LPT.
10. Remove all ports except LPT.
11. Shutdown system and reboot.
