Home and Away Credit Card Adapter - Installing in a TP755

Applicable to: World-Wide

NOTE: This card will not function unless the DSP's telephony function is disabled.

Installation of the home and away PCMCIA adpater on a ThinkPad 755 with MWave is as follows:

  1. If you are installing modem + ethernet option you must first install your LAN support (whatever that may be) with the installation diskette as the OEM device diskette, unless you are installing for Novell. When installing for Novell, use the network utility diskette as the OEM device driver diskette.
  2. Reboot the system and go through the a:install from the installation diskette.
  3. Make sure that the resource map utility includes the address AEA of the ethernet card.
  4. Disable the telephony function of the DSP and disable the infrared. Also, change the sound blaster IRQ from 5 to 11.
  5. Reboot the system and check the PC director. The PC director should show two I/O addresses starting at 300 and 2f8.
