Aptiva - How do I manually route calls using the Mwave Discriminator?

Applicable to: World-Wide

You can use the Discriminator to manually route calls to either the fax or the answering machine as long as you have both the fax and message features running. In order to set up the Mwave Discriminator to do this, perform the following steps:

1. Start the 'Call Discriminator' by clicking on the Windows 95 'Start' button.
2. Then click on 'Run'.
3. Then type: 'C:\MWW\DISCRIM\DISCAPP.EXE'

4. When the Mwave Discriminator box appears, click on 'Options' (located on the Taskbar).

5) Then click on DTMF code. This will give you the ability to set a DTMF tone that the Discriminator can use to distinguish between a fax and a voice message. The default tone for receiving faxes is "3".

On the Discriminator task bar, the 'To' command allows you to tell the modem manually that the incoming call is a fax, voice or modem call. The modem will then route the call to the proper place.
