Aptiva - Australian Trumpet WinSock Problem
Applicable to: Australia
Problem :
Any 2144 Aptiva with an O95AU0F Pre-Load Identifier and Trumpet WinSock installed may fail negotiation with the "MED-E-SERV" server.
Symptom :
Modem dials, begins negotiation, but does not appear to get to the point of logon.
Fix :
Use Windows 95 nativeTCP/IP dialup networking instead of Trumpet WinSock
Explanation :
Trumpet WinSock is a legacy 16-bit TCP/IP stack that is added to Windows 95. The native Windows 95 TCP/IP works just fine.
