PS/1-Aptiva - How to get a field total to display without the field name in a report with Microsoft Works

To show field totals, but not fields:

1. Choose Open Existing File and open your database. Select View from the menu bar and choose New Report. Press [Esc] to go right to the report definition page.

2. Find the line labeled Record. If you don't want any fields to show up in the report, highlight Record. Choose Edit from the menu bar and select Delete Row/Column. If you only want to prevent certain fields from showing, highlight "=fieldname", choose Edit and select Clear.

3. In the column where you want to place the total, choose one of the Sum Report rows and type "=SUM(fieldname)".

This will sum up the values in the field "field name" and display the total.

To check the results, choose View from the menu bar and select your Report. The total will automatically be updated when you make changes or add to the field. You do not have to create a new report each time.
