IBM PC730/PC750 - Cannot load Windows or Win-OS/2 or access diskette drive

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
With Business Audio enabled, any attempt to load Windows or WIN-OS/2 fails. This consequently disables the diskette drive until a cold boot is performed. Problem occurs with DOS 6.3/Windows 3.11, OS/2 2.11, OS/2 Warp 3.0.

Problem Isolation Aids:
Problems do not occur if all Business Audio hardware parameters are set to disabled via F1 from cold boot, all audio/MIDI drivers are REM'd out of CONFIG.SYS and SYSTEM.INI.

Fix:
An updated OS/2 Business Audio driver has been released that provides a fix for OS/2 Warp 3.0 for Windows and OS/2 Warp 3.0 FullPack.
Click here to obtain this driver:

Note:
If you choose to install the WIN-OS/2 Business Audio support under Warp for Windows, you must not boot DOS and start native Windows. The reason for this is that you are installing a driver that cannot be loaded under native Windows; any attempt to do so will result in Windows hanging. If you need to boot to native Windows for whatever reason then all Business Audio drivers must be REM'd out of the SYSTEM.INI file.
