Note:
Power-on the expansion enclosure first; then, power-on the server. This assures the repeater cards in the expansion enclosure have power and are ready before the controller card in the server performs a bus scan.
The expansion enclosure can be powered on without connecting it to a server. However, the expansion enclosure must be connected to a server before the drives installed in the enclosure can be used.
