TP760,765 - Sound Recorder volume under Windows 95 vs. Windows NT

SYMPTOM:
When using the internal microphone and Sound Recorder, recording results are significantly better under Windows NT than under Windows 95 (multi - boot system). The microphone also works fine with OS/2 and DOS/WIN 3.1.
CONFIGURATION:
ThinkPad systems with Mwave.
SOLUTION:
Edit the MWAVE.INI file in the C:\WINDOWS subdirectory. Scroll down to the PCMWAVE section and change the value of RMICGAIN to 520. Save the file and reboot the system. Bring up Sound Recorder and select Audio Properties from the Edit Menu. Check that Preferred Quality is set to CD Quality.
