Aptiva - Insufficient memory message running diagnostics
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
On a 2134, 2159, 2161, 2162, or 2176 system, when the user tries to run the Advanced Diagnostics after booting from the diagnostic CD-ROM, he may get an "Insufficient Memory to run QAPlus/Pro" error message.
This problem happens if the customer has:
1. compressed the drive.
2. compressed and then uncompresses the drive
3. attempted to compress the drive and halted the process.
Solution:
The customer needs to press F8 while the diagnostic disk initially loads. Choose the option for step-by-step confirmation of the loading of config.sys.The user should say "no" to drivespace.bin and/or "no" to doublespace.bin. The diagnostics will then run.
