Netfinity 5500 - OS watchdog doesn't reboot system after 2 successive OS hangs
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
If Novell has 2 successive system hangs, the OS watchdog timer will not detect the second hang and will NOT reboot the system.
Additional Details:
After the first reboot, the OS watchdog timer is not re-enabled. This is why subsequent hangs are not detected.
Fix:
In order for the watchdog to be re-enabled after one hang, the system must be re-booted via action taken by the customer. The customer will either have to power off the system locally or remotely via the Advanced Remote Management processor. See also Netfinity 5500 - OS watchdog timer reboots the system.
