TP General - How to remove/install the swappable floppy disk drive
Applicable to: World-Wide
How to remove or install your ThinkPad's Floppy Disk Drive.
Note (1): ThinkPad 365 Series and ThinkPad 380/385 do not have swappable FDD's.
Note (2): ThinkPad 701, 560, use an external Floppy Disk Drive.
Note (3): Do not attempt to hot swap the FDD with the CD-ROM on 760E, series machines using Windows 95, or OS/2 Warp V3.0.
Installing the FDD:
1.Make sure that no diskette is in the diskette drive.
2.Open the LCD, then open the keyboard.
3.Install the diskette drive. Press the down of the far end of the drive until it snaps into the connector. Lift the handle on the diskette drive with the plastic tape (blue), and remove the diskette drive.
4.Lock the wire handle in place.
5.Close the keyboard.
Removing the FDD:
1. Open the LCD, then open the keyboard.
2. Lift the handle on the Diskette drive with the plastic tape (blue), and remove the diskette drive.
