Aptiva - How can I set up my Aptiva to be a voicemail system with multiple mailboxes?

Question:
My Aptiva system came with Windows 95. How do I set the voicemail system for multiple voice mailboxes in Communication Center?
Answer:
The following example will demonstrate how to create mailboxes for three people in the Bridges family; Megan, Jeff, and Laura.
1. First, you need to create the mailboxes for each person.
To do this, open the Aptiva Communication Center by first double-clicking on the 'Aptiva Productivity' icon.
2. Then double-click on the 'Aptiva Communication Center' icon.
3. Next, double-click on the 'Operator' icon.
4. Then click on the 'Settings' button in the lower right hand corner.
5. Click on 'Mailbox'. You should see the following 'Mailbox Settings' window pop up.
REMEMBER that 'General' is always going to be considered the "master" mailbox when the caller calls the voicemail system.
6. Now click on 'Create'. For this example, name the mailbox "Megan".
7. Assign it a password that only Megan knows. (The first number should start with a number 4-9 because your remote message retrieval password cannot begin with the number 3)
8. Now perform the same steps for Jeff and Laura.
9. Once all the mailboxes have been created, Click on the 'Close' button, then click on 'Close' once again to take you back to the Aptiva Communication Center box.
10. Click on 'Telephone' and this will take you to a screen that looks like a phone. You should now see the mailboxes you created in the white box on the right hand side of the phone.
11. Double-click on 'General'
12. Then click on 'Greeting'.
13. Now click on the 'Record' button, speak into your microphone and leave your general message. (The message must be at least 20-25 seconds long). An example would be:
"Thank you for calling the Bridges residence, we are unable to take your call. Press '1' for Megan '2' for Jeff, or '3' for Laura, or wait for the tone and leave a general message."
14. Click on 'Done'
15. Now double-click on each of the other mailboxes and leave a personalized message for each one.
That's all there is to it. Now you can try it out by calling your own number on another phone. This feature is especially good for families that may have a part-time business, Consult the Aptiva Communication Center manual that accompanied your system for advanced procedures such as remote message retrieval.
