Aptiva - 2159/2161/2176 Dialing a 10 digit local number in Ring Central

Applicable to: World-Wide

Question:
I would like to dial a 10 digit local number in Ring Central. When I change the area code, Ring Central always places a 1 for long distance at the start of the number. How can I dial a 10 digit local number with Ring Central?

Answer:
The answer to this problem is quite simple. Do not change the area code. Leave it set at your current area code. Now instead of the 7 digit phone number, type in the 10 digit local number. As an example, let say you live in the 404 area code but you would like to dial a number (412-123-4567) which is a local number for you. Simply leave the area code set to 404 and for the phone number enter 412-123-4567. When you dial, the Ring Central program will not append the 1 to the number and it will dial the local 10 digit number.
