Aptiva - OBI Subwoofer (76H5486) on 2140/2142 Aptiva Units

Situation :
Will the OBI Subwoofer (FRU 76H5486) function when connected to an Aptiva 2140 or 2142 with the Tier-1 amplifier card?
Solution:
Yes. In all likelyhood, any subwoofer should function as long as it is connected to the Audio Out jack (purple) on the planar (next to MIC input). It is recommended that volume on the subwoofer be set to high as the output volume for the subwoofer will also be regulated by the unit (OSD).
This has been tested successfully with the IBM OBI Subwoofer only. NO subwoofer combination is supported by the Aptiva team.
