The following RETAIN tip has been updated with new information that reflects recent part number substitutions. The PC 300 6576/6586 system board FRU P/N 11H9623 no longer subs to P/N 11H9622. P/N 11H9623 is once again an active part number for the models 3XX and 4XX.
FRU P/N 11H9622 NOW SUBS TO P/N 96G3576. Existing inventory of 11H9622 has been relabeled to FRU P/N96G3576.

Listed below is a system board chart for the IBM PC 300 Series 6576 and 6586 systems. There are 3 system board FRU part numbers for the 6576 and 6586 which are model dependent.
System boards should be replaced with the same part number removed (like for like), with the exception of P/N 11H9622. P/N 11H9622 has been replaced by FRU P/N 96G3576.
DO NOT replace a system board with a board designed for a different model. The differences in the capabilities of the system boards will cause a system failure if not matched to the appropriate model.
