Network Station - Number of prestart jobs for Network Station connection
Applicable to: World-Wide
This document explains the difference in prestart jobs between Client Access, and IBM Network Station.
In Client Access, only one Prestart Job (PJ) is assigned for each user's network drive connection. But with Network Station, five Prestart Jobs are assigned with each Network Station user's network drive connection. This is done because of the separation of server concept used by IBM Network Station. For this reason, a larger number of Prestart Jobs might be listed under QSERVER Subsystem for Job QPWFSERVSO. For example, there will be 500 Prestart Jobs for 100 Network Stations connecting to an AS/400 system.
