TP 360,750,755C/CS - Full Screen MS-DOS Prompt with 256 colors.

SYMPTOM:
The ability to view a full text screen along with 256 colors at the MS DOS prompt is unlikely. With the installation of Windows 95 on a ThinkPad 360, the space at the top and bottom of the screen is nonexistent. Also upon exiting and re-opening at the MS DOS prompt, the previous settings (ps2 vexp on) is lost.
CONFIGURAITON:
Any TP 360, 750, or 755C/CS running Windows 95.
RESOLUTION:
The IBMVESA must be active in your config.sys file. Open an MS DOS Prompt and at the C:\Windows prompt, type
"ps2 vexp on" the response should be "OK". Exit the DOS prompt window.
1. Open Windows 95 Explorer;
2. Click on "Tools" on the tool bar;
3. Select "find" then select "Files or Folders";
4. In the Named box type "DOSPRMPT.PIF" , ensure the "Look In" box is for the drive or directory Windows 95 is located; (You may also search on " *.PIF" to see ALL possible .pif files associated with the DOS Prompt. )
5. Click on the "Find Now" bottom;
6. The file will be shown in the lower portion of the search screen; Place the pointer on the file name (DOSPRMPT) and click with the right mouse button. (You may also select the "MS DOS Prompt" name and follow the procedure below.)
7. Select properties, the property screen will be displayed; select the screen tab;
8. Set "Usage" to Full-screen and click on the down arrow for the " Initial size:" to 43 lines.
(You may have you user set it to what ever is comfortable for their use)
9. Click on "APPLY" at the bottom of the property screen and then click on "OK"
10. Close ALL windows to go back to the desktop.
11. To test the screen, click on START, PROGRAMS & MS DOS PROMPT. The c:\Windows prompt will be displayed. Type dir. (At the prompt to see if the text is displayed using the top and bottom of the screen. Type exit to go back to your desktop.

UTTPG101.EXE Utility Disk Install ThinkPad features (do a Uinstall for the PS2 options).
You may also set the properties for the MS DOS prompt .pif files to 50 lines and not use the ps2 option; or what ever is comfortable for you.
