TP General - Windows 95 "Language Not Available" Error during Boot
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
"Language not available" error on boot. "OK" can be selected and you can still get into the system.
Detail:
Upon install of Lotus SmartSuite (shipping with many ThinkPads), a key is added to the registry after Lotus asks which language you would like to install. If the SYSTEM.DAT file has to be replaced with SYSTEM.1ST (possibly even SYSTEM.DA0) this key is lost, and the above error starts to occur.
WORKAROUND:
Remove any Lotus SmartSuite applications from the startup folder.
(Note: You will still get the error when trying to launch a SmartSuite application)
SOLUTION:
Re-install Lotus SmartSuite.
