Aptiva - Cannot retrieve answering machine messages remotely

Description:
The problem occurs when a password is set for a mailbox that begins with the number "3". The Communications Center software will interpret the password as an incoming fax call, and the user hears a fax tone from the Aptiva when trying to check messages.

Ideal Solution:
Don't create passwords that start with "3". The other solution is to turn off the DTMF discrimination. Mwave is set up originally to discriminate using DTMF (dual tone multi frequency) codes - the "touch-tone" dialing tones. The user can modify the discriminator to disable this feature.

Alternative Solutions:
Windows 3.1
1) Click the File menu, then click Run.
2) Type in C:\MWW\DISCRIM\DISCAPP.EXE.
3) When the Mwave Discriminator window opens, click the Options menu, then click DTMF code.
4) Click the box marked "Discriminate using DTMF codes" to remove the "X".
5) Click OK and close the Discriminator.

Windows 95
1) Click the Start button, then click Run.
