PS/1 - Creating Backup of Fixed Disk for PS/1 Model 2011 or 2121

Follow the steps below to make a back up of your fixed disk:
1) Select the IBM DOS quadrant from the main screen. Double click on "Backup and Restore Your Fixed Disk". If this is the first time you are backing up your system, select "Backup your entire fixed disk".
2) You will be prompted to insert a diskette. This will create a "working" DOS backup diskette. The DOS diskette is made in the event your DOS files on your fixed disk are erased. The system will automatically format the diskette, if necessary.
3) After a successful formatting process, you will be prompted for a "Volume" name and will be shown a serial number for the diskette. You will then be asked if you would like to format another diskette. If the format was successful, type "N" and press [Enter]. (If an error message appeared during the formatting process, insert another diskette, type "Y", and press [Enter]).
The system will then begin to copy DOS information to the diskette. When the DOS diskette is created, the necessary DOS programs are copied first. If an "insufficient disk space" message is displayed, do not be alarmed. The required DOS programs were already copied and the system was trying to place extraneous material on the diskette as well.
4) After the DOS backup diskette is created, remove the diskette and label it "DOS BACKUP". Then, press any key to continue.
5) As prompted by the computer, insert another diskette into the drive and press any key. (If the diskette is not formatted, your system will format your diskette for you.) Then, the backup routine will continue and save as much information as possible to the diskette. When prompted, remove the diskette and label it "Backup #1". Insert another diskette ("Backup #2") and press any key.
This process will continue until all information on the fixed disk is copied.
