Aptiva - Installing the newest version of MPEG drivers for Windows 95
Applicable to: United States
For easy access, click here to download W95MPEG.EXE file,
Once the disk has been created, shut down Windows 95 and re-boot your computer. When the disk boots up, it may give a message about the Windows 95 version being out of date. This message is an error; your system has the correct version of Windows 95 and the message can be ignored. Then, select the option to install the MPEG drivers.
Executing this file creates a bootable floppy diskette. Booting the system up off of this diskette will load the updated MPEG v1.21 drivers. This file improves MPEG playback quality over the original drivers. It also corrects errors caused by the previous MPEG Update that caused MM281 Errors and DCI Errors when playing preloaded MPEG CDs (Dreams of Flight, Silent Steel).
For use on 2144 and 2168 Mxx and Axx machines.
If this procedure does not fix the problem, contact the IBM HelpCenter at 1-800-772-2227.
