TrackPoint IV Keyboard - Problem using keyboard in Windows NT 4.0 after log-on
Applicable to: Australia, Canada, United States
Parameters:
TrackPoint IV keyboard
TP600/770
Preloaded Windows NT 4.0
Problem:
At the Ctrl+Alt+Delete prompt the keyboard and built-in TrackPoint can be used to log-on but after log-on is complete the Keyboard will stop working completely.
Solution:
The source of this problem has to do with CardWizard for WinNT - - the I/O addresses conflict. First it is important to make sure a keyboard/mouse cable (FRU 54G0444) or a SelectaBase600/PortReplicator is being used. Remove the TrackPoint keyboard and use the internal keyboard & TrackPoint to do one of the following:
1) Change the I/O address to avoid a conflict
or
2) Uninstall CardWizard for WinNT and let the NT PCMCIA take over
Both options will work. Which option to use depends on the user's preference.
