Abstract:
Server and NetWare V4.11 hang on multiple ServeRAID Adapters.

TEXT:
Server with NetWare v4.11 hangs on multiple ServeRAID Adapters.

SYMPTOMS:
Server hangs using NetWare v4.11.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
- The system is any server that supports Multiple ServeRAID adapters.
- The system is configured with multiple ServeRAID adapters.
- The system is configured with Novell NetWare v4.11.
- The system has Support Pack 5B (IWSP5B.EXE) or older.
- The system has the symptom described.

FIX:
For this defect the customer should install NetWare Support Pack 6 or later.

DETAILS:
Under intraNetWare (NetWare v4.11), if multiple ServeRAID adapters are in the system and the console command 'REMOVE STORAGE ADAPTER Ax' is used to remove a single instance of the IPSRAID.HAM driver and then the DOS partition is accessed, the system will hang. The problem is caused by a defect in SERVER.EXE which requires a new LOADER.EXE and LSWAP.EXE from Support Pack 6 or later to fix. The fix is available for the non-DBCS languages at this time. IBM is currently working with Novell to have NetWare J updated to include this fix as well. For this defect, the customer should contact Novell support or visit the Novell support web site (http://support.novell.com) to obtain the support pack. This problem is not specific to any IBM server.
