TP General - Xircom PCMCIA 32bit Cardbus adapter not recognized with Windows 95

SYMPTOM:
Xircom PCMCIA 32bit Card bus card not recognized by Card Services under Windows 95 v4.xx
CONFIGURATION:
Any computer running a non OSR2 version of Windows 95 attempting to use a Xircom CardBus PCMCIA adapter.
SOLUTION:
Cardbus is not supported by Windows 95 Card Services, nor any card services under Windows 95 version 4.00.95 or 4.00.95a.
The drivers included in Thinkpad device drivers PCTPG095.EXE for Windows 95 do not support Cardbus cards.
The instructions in the Xircom users guide are clear on how to install their driver using the Control Panel, Network, Add Adapter interface.
It is necessary to REMOVE the PCIC controller from device manager, and then restart the system. When prompted on the restart, do not install a driver for the PCIC. PCIC must show up in device manager as DISABLED in order to make the card work with the Xircom Cardbus drivers.
This means that there can be no other PCMCIA card installed which needs to use card services, as you are in effect disabling the card services interface by removing the adapter. The machine must be reconfigured before using any other PCMCIA adapter.
There are limitations with Plug and Play (i.e. need to set up manually). The following settings are recommended: IRQ 10, IO=F600, MEM D400.
This card should not be hot plugged and suspend/resume will likely not work properly.
