TP General - Long Boot Time When Using Netfinity Manager and Client Services

SYMPTOM:
When using the Netfinity Manager and Client Services , the time to boot may increase to greater than 1 minute (40 to 90 seconds). During this time there is no indication that the system is still booting and the mouse pointer will be "frozen" on the screen.
CONFIGURATION:
ThinkPads using Netfinity Manager and Client Services in a Windows NT environment.
WORKAROUND:
This is normal operation. During this time, drivers and services required by the Netfinity product are loading.
SOLUTION:
If an indication of this activity is desired at boot, the "Show Support Program" option box should be checked. This will show the progress of this service. There are 2 ways to access the screen to enable this option:
1. During installation of Netfinity, check the box "Show Support Program" when the Netfinity Options window is displayed.
2. After installation of Netfinity, enter NFCONFIG at a command prompt . The configuration screen will be displayed. Choose Options, then check the box to "Show Support Program".
The change will be in effect the next time the Netfinity Service is started.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This symptom occurs while the Netfinity Support Program Service is starting.
